Our next free “Estate Planning Essentials” workshops will be on Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. Seating is limited (our last workshops have had waiting lists). Cohen will also be speaking at AT&T Baylor Memory Center for the Alzheimer’s Association on the topic “Financial Planning for Alzheimer’s Disease” on September 18, 2019. He will also be speaking for the Senior Lawyer’s Committee of the Dallas Bar Association at the Turning 65 Retirement Program on the “Intersection Between Long-Term Care Medicaid and VA Improved Pension Benefits” on October 2, 2019 at the Belo Mansion.

In this case, the husband, who had two children from a prior relationship and four children born of his marriage to his surviving spouse, left a Last Will and Testament naming his wife as his sole beneficiary. SENIORS HAVE LESS RIGHTS THAN TERRORISTS – NEW TEXAS LONG-TERM CARE MEDICAID TRANSFER PENALTY DIVISOR ANNOUNCED

If a senior makes a gift within five (5) years and applies for long-term care Medicaid, there is a presumption of guilt since Medicaid is “means-tested” so this is tantamount to an anti-fraud provision.
